Force India: Sutil and Liuzzi competitive at Hockenheim

Adrian Sutil with his Force India achieved the best time in the first free practice session of the German Formula 1 GP. The German then closed the afternoon session with the 14th time while Tonio Liuzzi set the 16th time. However, both are certain of being able to have an excellent weekend in Hockenheim.

Adrian Sutil:
“The first session obviously went very well. I went out on the extreme wet tires first of all and was able to set some fast laps and felt really comfortable in those conditions. When the track dried out on the line we switched to intermediates and, again, the car performed well and I set the best time, which is a great feeling in front of my crowd. In the afternoon I thought I had a better balance but we put on a new set just when the rain came and I couldn't do a good lap. The position doesn't really represent our potential and we know we can be much stronger. The pace on the long runs was good and I have a good feeling for tomorrow."

Tonio Liuzzi:
“It wasn't an easy day due to the weather conditions: rain in the morning and then in the afternoon we started with a wet track but it dried continuously. I think the pace shown here is quite competitive and overall we are in good shape for this weekend. In the morning we had some problems entering corners and then on the straights. In the afternoon I was hoping for a good session and we understood some areas of intervention for tomorrow, working closely with Bridgestone to get the best out of the tyres."
