Force India: Perez, “More could have been done today in qualifying”

In qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix, Sergio Perez's and Nico Hulkenberg's Force India took tenth and eleventh place respectively.

Sergio Perez: “Although it's nice to be in the top ten, I'm a little disappointed not to be higher on the grid. My lap in Q3 was quite difficult. But there was definitely more speed to be exploited from the car. One of the main challenges was the operating temperatures of the tires and I don't think we maximized those today. We have to find ways to make up positions tomorrow and we should be aggressive with our strategy because I don't think there will be many overtaking opportunities either. I hope it will be an interesting race."

Nico Hulkenberg: “A place in Q3 was very close today – less than a tenth of a distance – but I don't feel too disappointed because I'm quite happy with my lap in Q2. It's very difficult to get a perfect lap in Monaco. The team's traffic management was good and although I had a few cars in front in both Q1 and Q2, it never happened at crucial moments. Starting from P11 with an extra set of new tires gives us a good chance of scoring points tomorrow. It's a long race and we have to be ready to react quickly with the strategy to try to gain some positions. We are also expecting a few more clouds tomorrow and there is also a chance of rain.”
