Force India, Jules Bianchi will test the new single-seater in Jerez!

Force India has confirmed that Jules Bianchi will test the new VJM06 for the team in Jerez.

At the presentation of the new car at Silverstone last week, deputy team principal Bob Fernley admitted that Jules Bianchi was one of the possible candidates for the second starting spot, as was Adrian Sutil and a few others. In these hours it has been confirmed that the French driver will drive the car during the first test session which will take place in Jerez and which will end on Friday.

Paul di Resta will do most of the work by taking to the track on Tuesday, Wednesday (partly) and Thursday. James Rossiter, however, will be behind the wheel of the car late on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.

The decision to grant Jules Bianchi the opportunity to test the new car is linked to the driver's experience with last year's single-seater.

“After spending 2012 as the team's third driver, Jules will be able to provide the team's engineers with a further comparison between last year's car and the VJM06,” reads a note from the Indian team.
