Force India: Hulkenberg, “Singapore is always a long and eventful race”

In qualifying at the Marina Bay circuit, Force India drivers Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Perez qualified in P13 and P15, respectively, for tomorrow's Singapore Grand Prix.

Nico Hulkenberg: “Qualifying time in Singapore is always intense and stressful, but I was hoping to be a little more competitive and be in the top ten. As it turned out, a Q3 place was just a few tenths away, but my lap was quite good. I feel very positive about the race because I have a free choice of tires for the start and Singapore is always a long and eventful race. There are some strategic options because yesterday we saw a lot of tire degradation on both compounds. The aim is to come away with points tomorrow.”

Sergio Perez: “The track was very different today and we didn't expect such a dramatic change in qualifying. As the session went on, we struggled to get the tires working the way we wanted. Looking at the race we know that overtaking on this circuit is quite difficult, but with a good start and a strong strategy we can recover some positions. This track is very tough in terms of tire degradation and I expect to play an important role tomorrow. It will be a battle to get some good points, but on a track like this anything is possible.”
