Force India, Hulkenberg: “Achieved a great result”

Bittersweet day for Force India on the Suzuka track. In fact, despite the enormous set-up work during Saturday's free practice, Sergio Perez was unable to achieve a points finish during the Japanese Grand Prix, the fourteenth round of the 2015 Formula One World Championship. The Mexican from Scuderia Indiana was unable to recover positions during the starting phases and a subsequent contact with Carlos Sainz irreparably affected his race. A different story however for Nico Hulkenberg, author of an excellent sixth place which gives him important points for the championship standings.

Here are the words of Nico Hulkenberg: “A great result today. Realistically, sixth place was the best we could achieve. I got a good start overtaking a couple of cars and then we stayed on the inside into turn one, which turned out to be a good decision. In turn two I was in eighth place. It was a lonely race for me, but effective for a very welcome result. The team did a great job today and I think we deserved these eight points."

Here are Sergio Perez's impressions: “Twelfth place is a very disappointing result for me, among other things in a weekend that I started very well. Unfortunately my race was a battle right from the first corner: I saw Massa slowly go to the center of the track and I had to avoid him. Then I had contact with Carlos. We tried to recover and I did everything I could to get back into the points, but even our best wasn't enough. It was a shame because our pace was really good, but without safety cars or other incidents, the points were too far away."
