Force India, Hulkenberg: “Austin is my favorite circuit among the new generation ones”

It wasn't an easy day of free practice for the US Grand Prix for the Force India team. Now the team is at work, after the two test sessions, to try to improve performance on a demanding circuit which currently has poor grip.

Nico Hulkenberg – L1 Pos 7 / L2 Pos 17: “I think the organizers have given us an impressive circuit. It's fun to drive and there's a nice variation of corners, which gives a nice pace on the track. As far as the new generation of tracks go, I would say it's one of my favorites. The day was pretty smooth and we had to make sure we collected a lot of data because we don't have any historical information to draw from. We had a competitive car this morning but we struggled more in the afternoon, so we need to try to find some more grip.”

Paul Di Resta – L1 Pos 11 / L2 Pos 18: “I said yesterday that getting the tires to work would be difficult – and so it was today. The track surface is very smooth and the temperatures were not particularly high, which probably didn't help us. We have identified some problems but haven't found the best direction with the set-up, so we need to work hard to make the car easier to drive. Regarding the layout of the track it is very open and there are some nice corners, especially the first sector which has a great flow. Many turns are “off-camber,” which also adds another challenge.”
