Force India: Intense day in free practice at the Nurburgring

An intense day for the Force India drivers, Nico Hulkenberg, Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta, who in the two free practice sessions of the German Grand Prix tested new technical updates on the cars and worked to prepare for the race.

Adrian Sutil – 10th: “I struggled with a bit of understeer in the car today in both sessions so we worked hard to try and resolve these issues. We tried a few things, and I noticed some improvements. The morning program was focused on running with the new fund and everything looks very positive. The afternoon was more about preparing for the race and getting data for the tires with some long runs.”

Paul Di Resta – 12th: “It was my first full Friday here at Nurburging, so today I improved my speed and confidence on the track. From the start of the session the balance of the car was quite stable, especially in the faster corners. We tried to improve the car's performance in low-speed corners and worked on braking stability to avoid the rear locking up. Overall the car worked well today and gives us a good base to build on overnight. ”

Nico Hulkenberg – 9th: “I enjoyed the session and it was fun driving at the Nurburgring for the first time in a Formula One car, but it was a difficult start because I lost the KERS for my first run, which changed the behavior of the car quite a bit. Luckily we fixed the KERS for the rest of my run. One of the objectives of the day was to compare the new surface on Adrian's car this morning while I was racing with the previous version. This provided us with some useful data. Then I did my last run on the soft tyres, which worked quite well."
