Force India, Di Resta: “We lacked pace”

A disappointing race for Force India in the Chinese Grand Prix. Both drivers crossed the finish line outside the points.

Paul di Resta – 12th: “It was a difficult race, we lacked the pace to fight with the guys in front of us and to make up ground. So it was a bit like the race in Australia, where there were a lot of cars close to each other in traffic. I think we made some good calls as far as stops. So we leave here knowing that we are not too far behind the other teams and determined to have the car well balanced in Bahrain next week.”

Nico Hulkenberg – 15: “I didn't have a great start, because there was a lot of skating and I lost a few positions straight away. Then I took a bit of damage to my front wing on the first lap, I don't think anyone hit me, but there was a lot of debris flying around turn one so maybe something hit me. This made the first stint very difficult because there was huge understeer and I had to change the nose on my first stop. We aimed for a two-stop strategy, which I think was the right choice because our pace was strong towards the end of the race, but I think we lost too much early on to have any real impact on the race."
