FIA will evaluate changes to circuits to increase overtaking in F1

The FIA ​​has announced that its F1 circuit commission will assess whether some tracks can be modified to encourage overtaking. With the return of KERS, the introduction of the new Pirelli tires characterized by marked differences in performance in relation to consumption and the new movable rear wing, the Federation hopes to achieve a greater spectacle in the 2011 F1 season.

But the FIA ​​also intends to act on the design of the circuits, evaluating possible improvements to encourage overtaking on existing circuits.

“The circuit design group is evaluating the tracks of the F1 World Championship to identify possible changes to be implemented to improve overtaking” reads a statement from the FIA.
