FIA: Mercedes warned, will miss tests for young drivers
Reprimand also for Pirelli
di Staff21 June, 2013
Mercedes has been excluded from the young driver tests and officially cautioned as a punishment for using a 2013 car in a 1000km tire test in Barcelona with Pirelli. Official reprimand also for the Italian supplier. These are the decisions of the FIA International Tribunal which met yesterday in Paris.
Mercedes' request for a light sentence was therefore accepted and the proposal of the German manufacturer's lawyer who had proposed to exclude the Brackley team from the tests for young drivers was passed.
The costs incurred for the hearing will be shared between Mercedes, Pirelli and the FIA.
