Ferrari: Davide will be back soon!

There is a lot of disappointment in Maranello over the serious accident that Davide Rigon was the victim of yesterday at Istanbul Park in the final stages of the second race of the GP2 weekend. Davide, one of the drivers available to Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro for Formula 1 development activities, was rear-ended on the pit straight by Julian Leal's car and ended up against the wall that separates him from the pit lane: in the collision, the Italian driver suffered a fracture of the tibia and fibula in his right leg. Transported to the Anadolu Medical Centre, Davide underwent surgery this morning to reduce the fractures: the operation was a perfect success.

“It's a real shame that Davide's competitive season started in this way” – said Stefano Domenicali – “He's a very good boy, who was doing valuable work with us in the simulator, and we want to do it for him, on behalf of the entire Scuderia, best wishes for a speedy recovery: come on Davide, we want to see you back on the track soon!”
