Ferrari, Raikkonen: “The weather will be fundamental for the tyres”
The Ferrari Finn likes the Budapest circuit
Only one victory in Hungary for Kimi Raikkonen, in 2005, but also five second places (2003, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2013) on a circuit that the Scandinavian driver really likes. Kimi plays a lot in this 2015 edition, which represents almost a last call to convince Ferrari to renew his contract for 2016 too. It will therefore also be interesting to follow the Ferrari driver's derby with his compatriot Valtteri Bottas, the main candidate to take over from him in Ferrari.
Meanwhile, in his statements on the eve of the day, Raikkonen took stock of the situation, emphasizing the importance of the method in this Grand Prix:
“Some consider the Hungaroring a boring circuit, but I like it. Here we always race in very hot weather, we spend a lot of energy, but I believe that the climate will influence the performance of the tires more than that of the drivers. This is a bit like the home GP for us Finns, Budapest is one of the cheapest places to follow F1 and that's why so many Finnish flags stand out and then it's easy for us to reach."
