Ferrari, Raikkonen: “Good result, but I had little feeling with the car”

A solo race, in no man's land, and yet Kimi Raikkonen in the Brazilian GP he achieved (almost) the maximum, taking home a fourth place which allowed him to nibble away two points in the standings from Valtteri Bottas and to complete Ferrari's positive weekend on Brazilian soil. From the first laps Raikkonen did not seem to be able to keep up with the pace of the first three, thus choosing to remain on a two-stop strategy and easily control the advantage he had accumulated over the cars behind him. Iceman said he was satisfied with the final result, while he would have hoped to receive more feedback from the car.

“Today my race wasn't particularly eventful: overall the start went well, even if the tires slipped a bit I managed to maintain the position, staying behind Seb from the first corner - Kimi explained - We were fast enough to maintain fourth place, but I was honestly hoping to have a better feeling with the car. I struggled a bit with the Soft tires and then also with the Mediums. They were fine for a few rides when new, but after that I couldn't ride as I wanted. However, I don't think that going from two to three stops would have changed the final result, so we remained with the strategy agreed previously. The last stint was probably the best, but obviously there wasn't much to do at that point: we were already too far from the front of the race. We tried to do our best and fourth place is a good result."
