Ferrari: David Sanchez promoted to head of aerodynamics
The reorganization of the staff at Ferrari continues
After the departure of James Allison, officially announced last month, Ferrari had to reorganize its staff to cope with the loss of one of the Scuderia's key men. Maurizio Arrivabene, team principal of the Maranello team, had said in recent days that the staff reorganization was in full swing, but that the path taken was clear: “We are reorganizing the team, without panic, because when this decision was made we had a clear idea of what to do with the organization."
Il first important change was the promotion of Mattia Binotto (coming from the Power Unit department), who assumed the role of Chief Technical Officer, taking on the role of "coordinator" between the various sectors that James Allison had. The internal reorganization, however, would not be complete: David SanchezIn fact, he would be promoted to Chief Aerodynamicist, or rather the head of the aerodynamic area, replacing Dirk De Beer. The latter is one of Allison's "loyals", it is no coincidence that he arrived in Maranello with him, and it seems that he is ready to follow him in his new adventure, leaving the Red.
Sanchez has now been with the Italian Scuderia for around four years and it was wanted by Pat Fry, his partner at the time of McLaren. His work was mainly concerned with the study of the front wing and rear wing, but now a role with greater skills is expected. In this new adventure, however, he should not be alone: alongside him, in fact, Enrico Cardile, head of aerodynamics in the GT sector, should arrive.
At Ferrari the staff reorganization is progressing and, as expected, the decision has been made to focus on what were the "second lines", in order to leave space for those who haven't had any in recent years.
