Ferrari Park: work has begun in Abu Dhabi

The foundation stone laying ceremony took place today in Abu Dhabi to officially celebrate the start of work on one of the most complete and eagerly awaited amusement parks in the world, the Ferrari Park.

Present at the ceremony as official guests were the President of Ferrari Luca di Montezemolo and Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, President of ALDAR Properties, as well as representatives of the press, government and commercial bodies from all over the world.

During the event, a "time capsule" was also buried containing a connecting rod bolt and a piston from the F2007, the world champion F1 single-seater. The capsule will be opened again on the occasion of Ferrari's 2047th anniversary in XNUMX.

"This has been a very special year for Ferrari" – declared Montezemolo. "In addition to the extraordinary commercial success of our GT cars, we won the World Constructors' and Drivers' titles with Kimi Raikkonen. Part of a joint project between Ferrari and ALDAR Properties PJSC, the 250.000 m80.000 (of which 1 are indoors) over which the Park will extend, will be an extraordinary oasis, full of adventure, hospitality and beauty, which will enclose in itself the culture and true spirit of Italy, as well as the legendary automotive history, passion and tradition of Ferrari GT and FXNUMX cars.

Upon completion of the works, in 2009, the attractions will be a source of entertainment for families thanks to multi-functional high-tech theatres, numerous and sophisticated driving schools (for adults and children), exhibitions on Ferrari and interactive learning centres, alongside numerous refreshment and entertainment outlets.
In addition to its 24 themed attractions, the Park will offer a series of roller coaster rides for the whole family. A futuristic circuit will also be built in the heart of the Park which, in 2009, will host the first Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix.

After the foundation stone laying ceremony on Yas Island, a new Ferrari Store will be officially inaugurated at the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi. The ribbon cutting will be attended by the President of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo, the Commercial and Brand Director Dany Bahar, Abdullah Abdel Rahim Al Fahim, President of Al Fahim Enterprises and Ahmed Al Sayegh, President of ALDAR Properties.

Ferrari in the United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates (which includes Abu Dhabi, Dubai and five other countries) is one of nine markets managed by Ferrari Middle East & Africa.
