Ferrari: No moments of rest

There is not a moment's pause in the Scuderia's work in this very cold winter of 2012. The team returned from Jerez last night and already this morning in Maranello at nine there was a debriefing with the technicians who had followed the progress of the test in Andalusia from home. Together with them was Team Principal Stefano Domenicali, who took stock of the situation after the four days of testing.

The first analyzes confirm what had already emerged at the end of yesterday: the F2012 still needs to be refined but the potential is there. It is a complex single-seater with new solutions for the team, which require in-depth research into the best possible combination, a task that was carried out for a good part of the session and which will continue both in Maranello and in the next few days of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya. Moreover, it was also seen well from the outside: both Felipe and Fernando completed most of the laps on the Jerez track with the car full of sensors to collect data at constant speeds, a specific job to understand the aerodynamic behavior of the car.

There are certainly areas that need improvement but the first adjustments made from Tuesday to Friday gave positive results, as Fernando Alonso himself confirmed last night, despite having been tested relatively little. There was no reason to make catastrophic predictions until Thursday evening, just as there are no reasons to blow the horns after the Spaniard's best time yesterday morning. In short, calm and chalk: now it's just a matter of working with great intensity to improve the car and also to resolve those little reliability problems that caused us to waste some time in Jerez. From here to Melbourne there is a month: it seems like a short time but there is plenty of time to prepare for the debut in the best way.
