Ferrari. Montezemolo: “the team did their best”

It is a satisfied Montezemolo who phoned Stefano Domenicali this evening to congratulate the team after Fernando Alonso's third place in the Japanese Grand Prix.

“We knew that in this race Red Bull was practically unbeatable but we brought home the best possible result with Fernando, who remains in full contention for the title. The team worked well, with commitment and concentration” – said Montezemolo on the official website of the Maranello team – “I'm sorry for Felipe, who was certainly not lucky this weekend: I'm sure he will be the surprise of the last three races of the season. After this bad day he will have a great desire to react and we will do everything to put him in a position to win."

The Ferrari President was keen to underline how Fernando's consistency in performance can be decisive: "In the last six races, our driver has achieved three successes, a second and a third place, scoring more points than anyone else. We must continue on this path, always trying to get on the podium.”
