Ferrari, Massa: “A warm welcome in New Delhi”

As soon as he arrived in New Delhi, Felipe Massa was immediately able to appreciate the passion that Ferrari arouses in this country too. The Brazilian driver was the guest of honour, together with a flaming red 458 Italia, at a lunch organized by Ferrari India at the Leela Palace hotel which was attended by numerous customers of the Prancing Horse and other guests, including the Ambassador of Italy in India Giacomo Sanfelice di Monteforte.

The welcome given to Felipe was warm, especially from the young people, who surrounded him asking for an autograph and a photo together. “I'm happy to be here in India, I'm sure it will be a very pleasant week” – said Felipe in his greeting to the guests – “It's a country that is growing quickly, year after year, just like my Brazil. We hope to be able to start again on Sunday night having achieved a good result!”

Today will not be the only off-circuit commitment of the two Scuderia Ferrari drivers. On Thursday morning, Fernando Alonso will be busy, in his role as UNICEF ambassador, on a visit to a pediatric hospital in the Indian capital where he will be able to bring a gift to the children who are guests of the facility to celebrate "Diwali", the festival of light, one of the most important Hindu religious anniversaries, make them feel the closeness of one of the greatest protagonists of world sport and raise public awareness on such a delicate issue in India as the promotion of anti-polio vaccination. “Those who are fortunate like me have the duty to do something for those who suffer, those who are disadvantaged” – said Fernando before leaving for New Delhi – “I feel very much the responsibility of being UNICEF ambassador and I hope that this initiative can really make understand to everyone how important the issue of vaccination against polio is. In recent years, giant strides have been made in this field against such a terrible disease but much still remains to be done, especially for children."
