Ferrari, Marchionne highlights the problem of the latest SF16-H: "We were lacking in development"
"We have not worsened our performance", specified the President of the Red Team
During the last World Finals on the Daytona track, Sergio Marchionne returned to talk about the last disappointing season, underlining that despite the many interventions last year, the much talked about SF16-H was lacking in development compared to Mercedes and above all Red Bull.
According to the current CEO of the FCA group, in fact, the team was unable to get the most out of the car, falling behind in the central part of the season compared to its direct opponents for the titles. A problem that he hopes to resolve during 2017 with the careful guidance of Mattia Binotto, obviously assisted by team principal Maurizio Arrivabene.
“During the early stages of the season we were more competitive than in 2015, but we were unable to improve like our main competitors”, revealed the President of the Red team, present in Daytona for the World Finals. “We have not worsened our performance, but rather it is the others who have found tenths that we have unfortunately lacked”.
On the developments to be carried forward for 2017 he added: “We know where to intervene and we are making improvements in this sense. Our former technical director, James Allison, had some personal problems that took him away from Maranello, but I trust in Mattia Binotto and Maurizio Arrivabene. The guys have been working together for a few months and it takes time."
