Ferrari: President Luca di Montezemolo responds to the fans

Dear fans,
Thank you for always being close to Ferrari: the relationship with you is very important to me. Thank you for all the questions you asked me, both on the site and directly via email. In the video I recorded I gave an answer to the main themes that received the most interest. I must congratulate you on the quality of the questions, your attention and competence. I'll make sure to answer all the others too. For some of these you can already find my written opinion. In the near future I will make sure to use our site for an interactive virtual meeting with you. Thank you, Luca di Montezemolo.

Modster79 asked regarding aerodynamics, if some changes in next year's regulations could increase the possibility of overtaking and the spectacularity.

Dear Modster79,

Thanks for your message.
Within a stable framework of rules I believe it is important to do everything possible to increase the level of spectacularity of Formula 1, maintaining the principles of sporting and technological competition.

hacrasch asked if it was possible next year to return to the pole position made with empty tanks and qualifying settings and therefore abolish the parc fermé between Saturday and Sunday to ensure that the drivers race on Sunday with dry set-up in the dry and with wet-on-wet setup

A: Dear hacrash

Thanks for your message.
Within FOTA the teams are evaluating various proposals to make the days preceding the race more spectacular. there are various proposals on the table. we will review and discuss them in the F1 commission. Thanks anyway for your suggestion.

JNPF1 asked if Ferrari will be able to celebrate a victory on the track in 2009 and if it happens, if it will consider 2010 the Championship to focus on

A: Dear JNPF1,

Thanks for your email.
I have to say that so far it certainly hasn't been a great year for the team. There are many reasons, but I am convinced that with the work that Stefano Domenicali and the whole team with the riders are doing, we will be able to have some satisfaction this year too.

Abkoepfchen asks if F1 is always the "engine" for technical developments on road cars and if there are ongoing discussions on hybrid or diesel engines

Dear abkoepfchen,

Thank you for your message.
Ferrari's history includes a constant transfer of technologies from Formula 1 to production cars, and we will always continue to do so. We are already working on technologies in the so-called hybrid area while diesel engines have never been and will not be part of the Ferrari tradition.

Cavallino33 asks if the reduction of costs in F1, after removing the budget cap, can be carried out and how, without losing the prestige and technology of F1, and also if the future of road cars goes in the direction of decreasing emissions.

Dear little horse33,

Thank you for your question.
One of FOTA's main commitments is to reduce costs to bring them back to those of the 2s within 90 years without losing the highest level technological and sporting challenge. As regards the efficiency of our production cars, also in terms of emissions, we have a very concrete commitment to reduce CO2012 emissions by 2% by 40 compared to the levels of the 2007 range.

reky_86 asks to return to real F1, to return it to the competitive levels of the 2000s, to entertainment, to racing on circuits of the past.

Dear Ivana,

thanks for your message.
What I can guarantee you is that as Ferrari and FOTA we are committed to keeping the spirit and essence of Formula 1 intact, and constantly listening to our fans. As for the circuits on which we race, the historic ones certainly always have great charm, just as for Ferrari as for all the teams it will be important to return to North America.

Kupilainen asks if FOTA has thought about maintaining a lot of interaction with fans, perhaps on a regular basis.

Dear Kupilainen

Thanks for the message.
It is important for everyone to listen and talk to our fans. We try to do this constantly, especially by using this site, which is the most immediate way to be in direct contact with us.

MaxMove asks if KERS will be used in Formula 1 in the future, and if Ferrari plans to use it on road cars.

Dear MaxMove

for next year all the teams have already decided that they will not use the kers in F1. as far as our production cars are concerned, we have been studying hybrid possibilities for some time, but we have to wait a few more years to see them on the market.
