Ferrari, European GP FP2: Vettel 8th, Raikkonen 13th

In the second free practice session for the European Grand Prix, the Ferraris finished in eighth and thirteenth position on the Baku street circuit. The track conditions had changed compared to the first session due to the clouds which lowered the temperature. Seeking feedback on the behavior of the tires on the long run, Sebastian Vettel – eighth in 1.46.219 – concluded the session on used yellow (Soft) tyres, while teammate Kimi Raikkonen – thirteenth in 1.46.694 – preferred to continue on the Supersoft reds. The feedback regarding the temperature of the tyres, especially the front ones, is not optimal. A suspected technical problem at the end forced the Finn to park his SF16-H at the exit of turn 5. The best of the session was confirmed by Lewis Hamilton on Mercedes (1.44.223).
