Ferrari: Fisichella could also race in 2010

Although he has already signed a contract to take on the role of Ferrari reserve driver for 2010, Giancarlo Fisichella is not out of the market to race as a starter next year. The Roman's choice to join Ferrari as the new replacement for the injured Felipe Massa, together with the signing of the contract as a reserve for the Italian team, was interpreted by the media as a sign that a career has now come to an end. "For the moment I'm focused on picking up points to defend Ferrari's third place in the constructors' championship," Fisichella told La Stampa.

"Then, if Ferrari agrees, I could race with another team in 2010" added Fisichella.

It was also learned that Fisichella will work together with race engineer Rob Smedley during the five races with Ferrari. Fisichella has already worked with Smedley at Jordan, in 2002 and 2003.
