Ferrari: after Mattiacci also leaving Tombazis?

Ferrari is at the center of a managerial and technical revolution after the unsuccessful 2014 Formula 1 season. The news of Marco Mattiacci's farewell came this morning, replaced by Maurizio Arrivabene in the role of head of Sports Management.

Coming from Philip Morris, the main sponsor of the Cavallino, Arrivabene is a trusted man of Sergio Marchionne and the Agnelli family. His appointment could soon be followed by that of Andrea Agnelli as president.

After Mattiacci's departure, Nicholas Tombazis, head of aerodynamics, could also leave the team.

“I exclude that Tombazis could remain in his place in the new Ferrari organisation” writes Leo Turrini of Quotidiano Nazionale. “One of the things about Mattiacci that Marchionne did not understand was the confirmation of the Greek designer. Not for the person: Tombazis is an excellent individual, he is a professional gentleman and blah blah blah. But the Rossa, designed by him, hasn't worked for too many years. Keeping him there raised enormous doubts. Unfortunately the indications on the performance of the single-seater for 2015 are terrible. Vettel was informed, Raikkonen already knew. Marchionne promised Arrivabene total support also at a 'political' level. It is possible that the Ferrari president will personally participate in one of the next meetings of the F1 Commission, the one that deals with the rules, to send a very strong signal to the usual suspects gang.
