Ferrari will copy Red Bull suspension for 2012
di Staff14 September 2011
Ferrari will finally switch to a suspension layout similar to that of Red Bull for its 2012 Formula 1 car. According to rumors, a scale model of the Red single-seater for next year is already in the wind tunnel.
In 2011, Ferrari chose to retain the traditional push-road suspension rather than opting for the pull-rod scheme successfully adopted by Red Bull.
“In Maranello, everything has been called into question in light of the unsatisfactory results this season” we read in an analysis by Corriere dello Sport. “The pull-rod system will allow us to design a lower and smaller rear end but will only be adopted next season. In the last six races of this year, aerodynamic and mechanical components for 2012 will also be tested."
