Fernando Alonso: Great desire to get back on track

It was a very relaxing holiday that ends today, on the eve of leaving for Belgium. Immediately after the Hungarian Grand Prix I was in Maranello to work on the simulator and with my engineers and then, after a trip to Madonna di Campiglio for the presentation of the volume on the twentieth anniversary of Wrooom, I returned home.

In recent days I have tried to stay between Switzerland and Spain, without making long trips: a rather stressful end of the season awaits us and I didn't want to see too many hotels and airports.

In fact, the means of transport I used the most was the bicycle. In addition to the usual training, I enjoyed doing a "mini Vuelta" in the region around Oviedo: five stages together with my closest friends which were a lot of fun. Three weeks is enough time to be able to unplug, at least after a few days. I took advantage of this time to recharge my batteries in view of the season finale, as I think everyone did: it was needed after a particularly intense month of July.

Now I really want to get back on track but in a positive way, without any anxiety, indeed with a lot of tranquility. I'm happy that we're returning to racing on two tracks as special as those where the Belgian and Italian Grands Prix take place. The Belgian track is perhaps the most fascinating of the entire calendar, while the Monza event will be something special for me, considering that it will represent my competitive debut as a Ferrari driver in front of the Italian public, moreover on such an important circuit for history. of motoring.

I have positive feelings after the good races in Germany and Hungary. As the English say, "keep the momentum": this must be our objective in Spa, that is, to continue on the path started before the holidays. The results in Hockenheim and Budapest were not only important for the ranking of the two championships but also for the confidence they gave us. We have to continue like this.
