Felipe Massa: Yeongam, a very long circuit with a good mix of corners

The Brazilian Ferrari driver is enthusiastic about the Korean circuit after free practice on Friday. A circuit which, however, created problems with tire deterioration.

“I like this track. It's very long and there are all sorts of corners, with some parts resembling traditional circuits, others looking like part of a city track. Turn 11 is complicated: there are practically two corners in one and immediately after there is a change of direction. I struggled a bit to find a good set-up, especially to make the tires which were deteriorating quickly work in the right way: the situation will change further as the rubber settles on the asphalt. The grip level was constantly changing so it's difficult to judge where exactly we are compared to the others but the feeling is that we can be competitive. I tested the car without a blown rear wing in the morning but it's clear that you have to use it here: on the straights it gives you a good advantage over the standard one. I also had some oversteer but I think it's normal in these conditions: there is ample room to improve the car's settings and fix this aspect. It was important to try this track on the simulator: I found the references we had seen in Maranello on the track.”
