Felipe Massa's Monegasque race ends against the barriers under the tunnel. The Brazilian driver came out on top in a duel with Lewis Hamilton that began at Loews with a contact.

After Hamilton tried to overtake me at an impossible point like Loews, hitting me and sending me into Webber, the car was no longer okay and I could no longer turn because the front had no grip. For this reason, in the tunnel he joined me on the inside and I ended up on the dirt and then against the protective barriers. At the start I got off to a good start but at the first corner I found Webber and Fernando in front of me: I was on the outside and Rosberg managed to squeeze in. So I missed the right train to stay close to the leaders because I stayed too long behind the German from Mercedes. Today we were competitive and, given how things went, I had the opportunity to finish in fourth place. Now we're going to Canada, where we hope to have a car capable of fighting like we had here. The fact that there will be the same pair of tyres, soft and supersoft, is certainly positive for us.”
