F2 | The snow at Magny Cours does not stop the drivers: the shakedown of the 2018 car has begun
First official rounds with the new Halo system
While waiting for the first official tests which will be held in about two weeks, the Formula 2 paddock returned to the track for a short shakedown on the Nevers Magny-Cours track. The teams completed their first kilometers with the new Dallara for the 2018 season, verifying the correct functioning of all mechanical and electrical components. The single-seaters, in fact, were delivered to the teams only a few days ago and this session is allowing the engineers a first run-in of all new systems.
After the snow that fell yesterday, the teams started this morning with a light rain and a very low temperature (close to zero. ed.). Since it's a testing session, though, each team is focusing on reliability, putting aside the naked performance. We remind you that for Formula 2 drivers it will be the first session with the new Halo security system, which is why today will be used to find the right familiarity with this system (fastening seat belts, unfastening seat belts, entering the car, exiting the car and visibility. Ed.). The test will last until 17pm today.
