In a chat given to the British press, Zak Brown commented on the rumors relating to a possible entry of Mugello within the calendar, underlining how the Italian track could occupy a slot initially foreseen for non-European races.

According to the American Manager, Liberty Media could present a calendar made up of 15 or 16 races, with the European season which will be extended at least until the end of September (we are talking not only about Mugello, but also about Imola, Portimao and Hockenheim).

“I think we will have 15 or 16 Grands Prix,” Zak Brown said. “I would say the eight European rounds will be extended to probably 10, maybe 11. Russia, I hear, has a strong chance. China wants a race, while America I think is a bit of a question mark at the moment. And then I think we could do three, maybe even four races in the Middle East. Two in Bahrain and two in Abu Dhabi. If we put it all together, I see 16 races in total."

“I think getting to 18 might be a challenge, but if I went to Las Vegas today and had to bet on it, I would do it on 16 Grands Prix,” he continued. “Which is great because, not that long ago, it was the number to do a full season in Formula 1.”

Conclusion on Mugello: “It seems pretty likely from everything I've heard. It's a pretty spectacular track and very fast. Portimao in Portugal is the other track that is most frequently talked about."
