Zak Brown, executive director of the McLaren, he is happy with the new one team and driver line-up: in team di Woking will remain Fernando Alonso, in his third season since arriving in 2015 for the project with the Honda; on the other side Stoffel vandoorne, the rookie on whom all the spotlight is focused.

In an interview given to f1.com, CEO McLaren spoke about Alonso, that “was disappointed at times” last year by the car's lack of competitiveness: “I'll be frank: I recognize that he is the best driver in the world”, he wanted to state while praising the Spaniard's talent.

Brown he is aware of Alonso's skills behind the wheel, and that is why he imagines a great challenge with Vandoorne in his first season in F1: “With Alonso in the team, Stoffel faces a serious test. But, you know, I think he'll pass with flying colors. Our personal trainers tell me how incredibly focused and determined he is. He is very intelligent, you never have to tell him anything twice”, has continued.

The American leader is sure that Vandoorne will be able to impress the F1 paddock: “His debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix last year was sensational. […] I think Stoffel will surprise someone…”he concluded.
