F1 | Wolff: “Verstappen can beat Hamilton, even if he still makes small mistakes”

The first races of this season showed us an intense battle between Red Bull-Mercedes and between Hamilton-Verstappen, with the Milton Keynes team and the Dutchman who after the Monaco GP moved to the top of their respective world championship rankings. Discussing these two challenges, Stella team principal Toto Wolff is certain that both Red Bull and Verstappen have everything it takes to win, despite the latter continuing to make mistakes due to his young age.

"We are experiencing a fight between two exceptional drivers. The pendulum swings both ways and some of the things that are said are good for the show – declared Wolff, interviewed by the Frankfurter Allgemeine – Sand can Verstappen beat Hamilton? Yes, he can do it. But he still makes little mistakes because he is young. His speed and control of the car are excellent, but he can't make any mistakes because Lewis is at the peak of his powers. This is a challenge that he has never experienced in Formula 1. It is a situation that suits us. Red Bull cannot deny the role. This is reality. Red Bull should have been on pole everywhere. They have the fastest package".
