F1 | Wolff on the future: “I'm facing a moment of reflection”

Interviewed by the German press, Toto wolff he returned to talk about his future in Formula 1, underlining how he is currently facing an important moment of reflection.

Despite the many rumors that have circulated in recent weeks, including regarding a possible move to Aston Martin, the Austrian has not yet chosen whether to continue his adventure in Mercedes and in what guise, an aspect that is creating a real "tom tam" among all the professionals, especially those already close to the world champion team.

Wolff, precisely in this sense, specified that no official decision has yet been taken, given that there are various options on the table to be evaluated and weighed, including that of "remodulating" his commitment as Team Principal of the Mercedes.

“I'm not sure what being in charge of a team really means and I'm not sure if this concept works in Formula 1,” said Toto Wolff. “I am responsible for 2.000 people, a thousand for the engines and a thousand in the other factory. Should I bear all these responsibilities alone? I really enjoyed taking on this role, but perhaps, looking to the future, I could share my role with someone else."

“I have given everything in the last 8 years”, continued the Austrian. “My question is: is all this sustainable? Is your family life affected? Your health? I've been suffering from migraines and it's something that has never happened to me before. In practice your mind no longer has moments of inactivity and you are always under pressure."

“I believe we all have an expiration date at the end,” he concluded. “I don't want to go from great to good, because someone would take issue with that. For me it is certainly a moment of reflection."
