F1 | Wolff ready to help Bottas: "We won't do anything that could complicate the future"

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff admitted during the Hungarian Grand Prix that during the summer break, the German team will have to make a drastic decision on who to line up alongside Lewis Hamilton for next season.

According to the point of view of former driver Christian Danner, Valtteri Bottas will be reconfirmed:

“The team knows that things are going well with Lewis and Valtteri -he told RTL- in critical moments he was unlucky or made mistakes but with Hamilton in his world, it's not an easy job."

Bottas said that since there has not yet been an offer from Mercedes, he is making it “a plan B and a plan C” with a view to 2020.

Toto Wolff reiterated his desire to take care of Ocon and Bottas, regardless of the decision he makes for next year:

“We are responsible for both the junior drivers and those who are driving our car. We will not do anything that could complicate their future careers. Whatever we decide, we will take into account the possibilities for a rider to go elsewhere."
