Wolff on a hypothetical negotiation between Red Bull and Russell for 2021
F1 | Wolff: “Red Bull-Russell dialogue? I would sit at that table too."

Toto Wolff has not the slightest intention of selling George Russell to Red Bull for the 2021 Formula 1 season. In an interview granted to the German RTL, the Mercedes Team Principal spoke about the hypothetical negotiation between the English driver and the team Austrian government, specifying that its presence at the negotiating table, if one were to start one, would be absolutely "a given".

Russell, we remember, is the number one favorite to succeed Valtteri Bottas in Mercedes. The latter, however, can count on the strong support of the seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, who is reportedly pushing with Toto Wolff and Ole Kallenius for the confirmation of the Finn for the next championship.

“The situation is quite clear and if Red Bull were to sit around a table, I would certainly take part in the discussion too,” said Toto Wolff. “I would also participate in any negotiations between George and them. There's no doubt about that."
