F1 | Williams, Stroll: “I'm really happy, but what a shame not to get into Q3 for so little…”

Finally the Williams get back on track. In Baku, for the first time this year, the English team entered Q2 with both cars, taking an 11th place finish with Lance stroll and the 12th con Sergey sirotkin (which, among other things, had hit the wall in the morning FP3). The two drivers, who will move up one spot due to Hulkenberg's penalty, commented thus on the qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

STROLL LANCES
Q1: 15th, 1:44.359 – Ultrasoft
Q2: 11th, 1:43.585 – Ultrasoft
Q3: //
"I'm really happy. This weekend we have clearly taken a step forward compared to recent events. On the other hand, it was a bit disappointing not to get into Q3 for such a short time. It would have been possible, but still difficult to throw out a Red Bull. However, I am still very satisfied with the work we have done: I give a big thank you to the team. It was such a difficult qualifying with yellow flags in Q1 – I never completed a lap down to the last second on the old tyres, so I was lucky to make it. Then I was happy with my lap in Q2. This track has a little bit of everything: high speed, low speed, walls, drama, so it's good. It would be nice to see more circuits like these, because we see other cars that normally come out of Q2, who instead struggle. It's very different to anywhere else and it's a lot of fun.".

SERGEY SIROTKIN
Q1: 14th, 1:44.261 – Ultrasoft
Q2: 12th, 1:43.886 – Ultrasoft
Q3: //
“It's a great shot. We knew there was potential. I have to thank the team a lot because they were really helpful, doing a perfect job to make sure they got me on track. I am very happy to be able to thank them with a result like this. I feel like we could have done a little better - I'm not sure it would have been enough for Q3, but we would have been much closer. We are moving forward, making progress and great work. Now we see it in the results. I thank everyone for this. Now we will continue to improve".
