F1 | Williams, Stroll: “Instead of racing, we tried to take the car to the finish line”

Nightmare start to the season for Williams in Australia: the Grove team returns home with zero points in their pocket and many questions about the FW41. Only 14th, as well as second to last, Lance stroll; even out after only six laps, however, Sergey sirotkin, who, in his first Formula 1 race, had to say goodbye to the company prematurely due to rear brake failure. The two pilots thus analyzed the Albert Park disaster.

“On the first lap we were in the wrong mode, and that's why Ocon caught me. We didn't even have the extra power we needed for the restart after the safety car, which is when I lost position to Leclerc. Instead of racing, we simply tried to get the car to the finish line. We had some big problems that cost us a lot of time. I hope we can find the solution before Bahrain.".

“It didn't go as expected and I'm not even talking in terms of results, which obviously we would have liked to achieve even if we didn't succeed, but rather in terms of learning, which we didn't gain. It's a shame and I'm quite disappointed, it wasn't the easiest weekend for me. It was quite important to have a good race. Now we will prepare for the Bahrain weekend, where at least I know I have a good chance, so I'm looking forward to it. In just two weeks we will be back on track and working harder than ever. I'm sure we'll get to where we deserve to be.".
