F1 | Williams, Stroll: “The feeling was good, I could have done better in the second run of Q2”
Sirotkin: "We could have gotten more out of the car, however we have to be positive"
Not an exciting qualification for the Williams in Melbourne: the meager haul tells of a 14th place for Lance stroll and 19° per Sergey sirotkin, even eliminated in Q1. The official website of the Grove team collected the impressions of the two drivers.
Lance stroll
Q2: 14th – 1:24.230 (+2.286)
“We would have signed for 14th place on the weekend after Barcelona. But it wasn't ideal, as we could have improved the lap in the second run of Q2. However, I held back a bit in the last sector: I didn't have any tires in the window, the front ones were cold and I paid for that. I felt good in the car and there was probably a little more potential. We are in the mix for the points positions: we will see what happens and where we end up tomorrow."
Sergey sirotkin
Q1: 19th – 1:24.922 (+2.098)
“There were big changes between sessions. For sure I think we could have gotten more out of the car, but it's the start of a very long season, so we'll just have to analyze what we can do better and move forward. We have to be positive. Let's try to learn step by step and move forward.".
