F1 | Williams, Sirotkin: “We can be happy, there are many positive ideas to draw from this race”

Usual Sunday as the last of the class for the Williams: at the Hungaroring Sergey sirotkin e Lance stroll they finished in penultimate and last place respectively, protagonists of yet another anonymous performance in 2018. Here are the words released post-race by the two drivers of the English team.

SERGEY SIROTKIN
Starting box: 20th
Final placement: 16th (+2 laps)
Strategy: 1 pit stop (Soft, Medium)
“I think we can say we finished the first half of the year on a high. Obviously, it's not that evident in the results but, realistically looking at where we started, the intended strategy and the blue flags, we can be happy with how we performed. There is still room for improvement: we will do some analyzes and corrections during the summer break, but we can draw many positive ideas from this match and take a well-deserved rest.".

STROLL LANCES
Starting box: pit lane
Final placement: 17th (+2 laps)
Strategy: 1 pit stop (Medium, Ultrasoft)
“Yesterday it was nice to get into Q2, although obviously it didn't go as we would have liked, and today we had to start from the pitlane as we fitted the old front wing, which we haven't used for a couple of races. I definitely felt a loss of performance: the car didn't seem to cooperate as well as with the new front wing. We adopted a different strategy from Sergey, trying to increase the pace at the end of the race with qualifying tyres. However, there weren't enough laps left.".
