F1 | Williams, Russell: “I'm optimistic about the future”

The start of the season is certainly not the most exciting for the Williams, which after difficulties of the Barcelona tests was the slowest team in Australia. However, it is the young man who gives a little optimism to the environment George Russell, who arrived second to last in Melbourne ahead of his teammate Robert Kubica.

In front of the microphones, Russell declared: “”There is certainly light at the end of the tunnel, even if we know that it will take some time. It will be a long-term process, something the team has made clear since the end of last year. The main problem is the aerodynamic aspect: We had to do things in a hurry and later than other teams: the quality is not up to their normal standards and we are missing something in that department,” he continued.

“But I think overall our package is probably better than what we're showing at the moment. As far as driving is concerned, however, I certainly have good confidence to push the car as best I can. It just lacks grip compared to the others. It's good to have some foundations to build on even if, as I said, it takes time,” he concluded.
