F1 | Williams, Russell: “We are behind in everything”
"I'm not interested in fighting for an 18th place"
The Williams driver was present at the usual press conference that anticipates the race weekend. George Russell spoke about his first races where, despite himself, there was no shortage of difficulties:
“There are some things in preparation, especially the pace has been slowed down after the Baku incident. At the moment we are behind in everything but we will try to catch up. There are small differences between one machine and another to try to test our limits. It's a great opportunity to be able to race without pressure on our shoulders, since we are so far behind. I'm not interested in that, I would like to fight with whoever is in front of me on the grid. For this reason, I am fighting closely with the team to try to improve the situation, we are not interested in fighting for an 18th place."
Patrick Head has returned to Williams as a consultant and George Russell is enthusiastic about him:
“We are talking about a great person who is bringing great motivation to the team. She has incredible knowledge and a story that everyone at Williams knows. Her entry will definitely be an advancement for the team."
