F1 | Williams, Russell: “It's a lot of fun to drive here”

The Williams of Russell and Latifi occupy the final part of the timesheets at the end of the first day of free practice for the Qatar Grand Prix. The two riders are in sixteenth and eighteenth position respectively, despite the apparently good feeling both had after today's sessions.

"I enjoyed myself - Russell admitted. It's nice to drive here, it's a very fast circuit, probably more than we expected. Tire degradation seems relatively low, which allowed us to push a lot, which is what all of us drivers want. It doesn't seem easy to overtake, and this could be a factor on Sunday. However, conditions are expected to change tomorrow, and this could be either for or against us, but regardless we will adapt to the situation. The curbs are quite hard given the speeds, the car can be easily damaged."

“I expected a fun track and it was like that – Latifi said. It's really fast, with few sharp corners and it's great to take them with these cars, in fact I think it suits our car well. The times do not reflect our sensations, so we will analyze the data we have collected to work towards tomorrow. A new track brings with it several variables, we will do our best to face these challenges."
