F1 | Williams, Russell: “How nice to return to reality”

Williams' moment, for a change, is quite chaotic. The team is for sale, the main sponsor ROKiT has suddenly abandoned the British partnership and unfortunately there is no shortage of economic difficulties for one of the most important brands in the history of Formula 1. But now it's back to racing, and Russell and Latifi are eager to demonstrate what they can do. For the Canadian it will be the absolute debut in the category, and the FW43 still seemed in better shape than last year's car.

“I'm really happy to be racing again, especially on a circuit that I like and where I've done well in the past – Russell said. Last year in Austria was probably one of my best races in Formula 1, so I'm looking forward to driving there. We've done a lot of virtual races lately, it will be nice to get back to reality and entertain the fans who will support us from home. From a performance point of view, I don't want to venture any opinions given that we have stopped since the February tests, but regardless of this I will give my best on the track!".

“It goes without saying that I am extremely happy to make my debut in Formula 1 – Latifi admitted. It hasn't been an ideal period, of course, but in these last few weeks it's been nice to get back to normality a bit: I prepared as best I could and I also returned to the factory in Groove with the team. I feel ready: it will be strange with the new protocols and everything will be very quiet without the public. We will have to get used to many things, but we are returning to racing and this is the main thing: I can't wait to get on the track."
