F1 | Williams, Paddy Lowe: “Congratulations to our drivers, Sergey was fantastic”

After taking points at Monza with both drivers, Williams fell back to the rear in Singapore. The two riders of the English team qualified in the last row, one second and four tenths away from Vandoorne, eighteenth on Saturday. In the race Stroll took fourteenth position, while Sirotkin was the absolute protagonist of the Grand Prix, battling with everyone and only giving in at the end to a spin from Perez and a penalty for almost sending Hartley into the wall. But the Russian driver was among the most voted by fans for the "Driver of the day" which then went to Verstappen.

“It was the usual long Singapore race – declares Paddy Lowe. Sergey got a piece of the wheel from Ocon's accident, and this forced us to stop early. We put on the Soft thinking of going to the end. Sergey did a fantastic job, managing the tire and pace, keeping the others behind him despite the pressure. In the end he was involved in an accident with Perez, and this ruined his race, otherwise he could have finished in a good position. With Lance we took advantage of the traffic to optimize the pit stop, which gave him a better position than hoped for at the start. He was fifteenth, then gained fourteenth place thanks to the penalty given to Grosjean. Congratulations to the team, two more cars home in a very tough race.
