Latifi "familiarises" himself with the B version of the car and finishes with the 20th time

F1 | Williams, Albon: “Satisfied with the behavior of the car here at Le Castellet”

Moderate satisfaction for Alexander Albon at the end of the first day of free practice valid for the French GP, 12th round of the 2022 Formula 1 world championship.

The Thai, 6th this morning and 16th in the afternoon, managed to create a good feeling with the car, picking up indications that give him and the team hope for tomorrow. A different story however for Nicholas Latifi, given that the Canadian had to adapt, both in terms of feeling and balance, to the new update package installed on his car.

“It was a pretty good day because the car adapted quickly to the track,” the Thai said. “So I feel positive. We hope to be able to use these sensations to improve further ahead of tomorrow. All in all I am satisfied with the work."

Here are Nicholas Latifi's impressions: “Overall it was a very difficult day, starting from FP1 this morning. I still don't have the right feeling with the car and with the team we will have to investigate what didn't work properly. On paper it's not something related to the update, which is a good thing. Looking on the positive side, I would say that we have collected a lot of good data on the car and its behavior here at Paul Ricard. Alex and I are riding with the same package and this is important for development. We'll see what we can do for tomorrow."
