F1 | Williams, Massa: “I did a clean lap, but it wasn't enough to get into Q3”

Williams does not go beyond Q2 in qualifying for the United States Grand Prix. The best placed driver of the Grove team is Felipe Massa, author of the 12th time.

Lance Stroll, however, eliminated at the end of the first heat after setting the 17th fastest time, was penalized by three positions for the misunderstanding, which could have generated a violent accident, with Romain Grosjean's Haas in the very first stages of the session.

Massa and Stroll, by virtue of the penalties received from other drivers, will start on the grid from tenth and fifteenth position respectively.

"I had a clean ride – underlined Massa – There was little difference between three teams today, but, unfortunately, we are the ones behind. We have to analyze everything. I didn't make any mistakes, but, unfortunately, we didn't manage to reach Q3. He was confident, I expected improvement".

"I'm obviously disappointed – Stroll's comment – I had a problem with the engine, which went into economy mode instead of qualifying mode, which cost me eight tenths of a second. Unfortunately, it was an unfortunate situation. We'll see where we can get to tomorrow, we have the pace".
