F1 | Williams, Stroll's satisfaction with 10th place: "I was giggling under the helmet"

In Monza, Williams finally struck a blow: the English team aligned itself with the performances of its mid-table competitors, qualifying 12th with Sergey Sirotkin and even 10th with Lance Stroll (first Q3 of the year). An encouraging result in view of Sunday's race and, above all, the rest of the season.

STROLL LANCES
Q1: 13th, 1:21.838 (+1.296)
Q2: 8th, 1:21.494 (+1.865)
Q3: 10th, 1:21.627 (+2.508)
“I'll give my boys a hug. I was giggling under my helmet. I don't think this is just due to the circuit, as on any track it depends on the day. Sometimes you have a certain rhythm and everything comes together: today that's exactly how it went. We have been in good form since Q1, then I had a good lap in Q2 and finally in Q3 I did what I could: tenth place was the best. Tomorrow will undoubtedly be a challenging day, considering how much we are suffering on the forehand and the return of some of our competitors. However, my mentality is always the same: I intend to give my best and then whatever happens, will happen.".

SERGEY SIROKTIN
Q1: 11th, 1:21.813 (+1.271)
Q2: 12th, 1:21.732 (+2.103)
Q3: //
“Personally it wasn't my best session. Yesterday's performance was much more promising. It was all about the trails, how to get them, the car you're chasing and how much gap you leave in front. I think when you focus on this so much, there can be an influence on the balance of the car and the performance in different parts of the track. I think we lost a little bit of the core performance and, honestly, I think we lost a lot more time. On my last run, the trail I got wasn't optimal. I had a different balance in corners, so the car was unstable. It was a difficult session, I'm not too happy".
