F1 | Williams, Albon: “We weren't fast enough”

Melbourne – The checkered flag puts an end to a weekend full of criticism for the Williams. Alex Albon, after having put the car against the wall in Friday's free practice, he took to the track again on Saturday and Sunday by "borrowing" his teammate's car Logan sargeant – the team did not have another chassis available to repair the Thai's car. Despite the rain of controversy, Albon took twelfth position in qualifying, but the race was another story and there was no competition. Williams doesn't seem to have the pace to fight, but despite this Albon stops a whisker away from the points, in eleventh position.

Albon: “The pace wasn't enough to fight”

“The early pit stops tried to hide our lack of speed today; we tried to stay in the fight by anticipating the stop, but in the end our rivals were too fast. Every time I tried to keep up with their pace, the tires went into graining, while following my own pace I lost more than three tenths per lap. There was a lot of graining and the car didn't seem to be there, we need to understand why. It's frustrating not to have taken advantage of the retirements of three top drivers, this shows that our pace wasn't enough. It was a difficult weekend for Williams, but we got through it, the team is united. I can only thank everyone for their hard work and dedication, and of course Logan for being a great team man. Honestly, I'm happy with my performance despite the circumstances, we will return to fight in Japan."
