Albon: "Frustrating to finish 11th"; Sargeant: "Pace ok, but we didn't have good consistency"

F1 | Williams, Albon and Sargeant outside the top ten in Jeddah

F1 Williams GP Saudi Arabia – Williams' "no" moment continues. Even in Jeddah, after the world event on the Sakhir track, Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant were unable to bring their respective FW46s inside the points zone, effectively ending the weekend with nothing. An unacceptable condition which will have to push the English team to extract more potential from the car starting from the next events on the calendar. Albon, we remember, finished in Saudi Arabia with 11th place, while Sargeant did not do better than 15th place.

Albon narrowly misses the points

“It's frustrating not to have fought for the points here in Jeddah. Haas did a great job with the strategy, using Kevin as a blocker at the front of the pack, and in the end they deserved to get their final top ten finish. Unfortunately we didn't have the necessary speed to battle and also, due to a year on the front wing, we couldn't make our way through the group. Our car had better potential than it actually showed, but that's part of the game. We will try to improve in view of Australia."

Sargeant, inconsistent performance in Jeddah

“It was a decent race, especially in the first 35 laps. However, we didn't have the pace we needed for the last 15 laps. I was starting to explore the potential towards the end of the race, but in the end it was too late.. If I had realized the potential earlier, I probably could have fought for the top ten. Or at least get a better result. I will examine everything and try to improve for the next race. I am confident we can unlock more potential for Australia.”
