F1 | #WeRaceAsOne, the checkered flag of each GP is on sale for charity
Each enthusiast will be able to purchase a single square for 221 euros
Formula 1 announced the project yesterday #WeRaceAsOne both to support the battle against discrimination and to support associations in the battle against Coronavirus. 56 of the chessmen featured on the flag of each race will be on sale for purchase by fans, while the remaining 24 will be up to the organizers of each Grand Prix to be given to fans and guests. Fans will be able to purchase the checkered flag of the Austrian GP, the opening race of the 2020 season, for 199.99 pounds, or 221 euros. In total, therefore, 11.200 pounds should be raised per race, equal to 12.363 euros. Fans will have their names printed on the box they purchase, but will not be able to select which one will be delivered to them. After the races, they will receive their framed square - an image of the checkered flag and a hologram will also be included to ensure authenticity.
