F1 | Webber: “There could be some surprises at the start of the season”

Formula 1 drivers are forced to face the longest break of their careers and in the opinion of the former Australian driver, this could have consequences for the world championship. Some pilots are training on the simulator, participating in the eSports, but according to Mark Webber, such a long break might not be good for several riders because it could have an effect on their performance.

"I think some riders will be a little uncomfortable at the start of the season. It is the longest break F1 has ever faced and, although the season is due to start in June, drivers have not raced for six months. Twelve weeks is normally a long time, but this is much longer. If you lose your routine, you make mistakes more quickly and there may be surprises at the beginning of the season. Not only the drivers will have to readapt but also the mechanics who make the pit stops."
